Still from Lime Rock

I'm editing, just kinda liked this still, and now that I have a blog up, I can just post it. So here ya go.

The Paint was Still Wet...

After working several hard days and nights, the boys of Doran Racing produced another Mk VII, this one for Tim Pappas' Black Swan Racing. Not a moment early, she touched down here at Lime Rock Park on Friday morning about 7:30AM. The race was Saturday.

No test time, barely time enough for Tech, the car still made a respectable entry, placing 8th in it's class (GT2)

Hopefully, I'll be there to follow this car's career. Another step in the development of a great group of machines.

I took these pictures with my cell phone. My video camera at tht moment was only a few yards away, but locked up inside the Robertson Race Team's transporter....ahhh, it was painful. There is video of the race, just sit tight while I edit it.

Speed Legacy is on the way

While the month of June has been relatively quiet, some work has been underway. The Robertsons: testing, Kevin Doran: hurriedly preparing another Mk. VII, and I, steadily working on this new look and feel, as well as a plan to help keep my project going- SpeedLegacy and the membership opportunity.

Filming these events (or anything for that matter) is not the cheapest undertaking. So far it's been a labor of love, underwritten largely by Oliver Kuttner, but now with more cars, more races, and more... well, work, it's gonna take a lot of love. So the new website is about marking the film's independence from the commercial or political realm of racing. It's about fans getting an artful eye into the action. I've officially taken the movie and made it my own- put it on it's own website on my dime, and given it a new name. I hope that those of you who appreciate the effort will pitch in and make it continue, there is still so much to film, so many stories yet to tell.

Although not yet live, SpeedLegacy.com will be online within 1 week and a half max.

Happy Independence Day!
